Padgett Law

Gregory Padgett (Bio) concentrates his practice in estate and trust litigation, especially Will contests and claims in estates.  He graduated summa cum laude in 1981 from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He attended Law School at the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois, graduating in the top third of his class in 1984. Immediately after leaving law school, Mr. Padgett was hired by the Chicago law firm of Kirkland and Ellis. His years at Kirkland and Ellis provided him with invaluable experience and knowledge in the areas of complex commercial litigation and business litigation.

After leaving Chicago, Mr. Padgett headed back home to Indianapolis and began his career as a business and probate litigator with one of the oldest, largest and best-known Indiana law firms, Baker & Daniels.  After 4 years there, Mr. Padgett left to assume all litigation responsibilities at the well-respected Indianapolis estate planning and probate law firm of Johnson, Hall and Lawhead PC, where he quickly was named a partner of the firm.

In 2000, Mr. Padgett merged his litigation practice with Barnes & Thornburg. Four years later, he started his own practice, working in conjunction with the law offices of Hall Koehler.

Profiled in “Who’s Who in American Law,” Mr. Padgett was also named as one of the “Outstanding Lawyers of America” in 2003. He has handled cases in more than 30 counties in the state of Indiana.
